Throughout the 80's, 90's and still to this day, SBS has continued to grow and thrive. We currently have four warehouse locations - with headquarters located in Kent, WA., and branch facilities in Rancho Dominguez, Calilfornia, Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Dallas, Texas. In 1985, SBS purchased the Redline® Bicycles brand from founder Linn Kastan, and would later go on to buy or start up five other proprietary brands: Potenza® cycling gear, Inline® parts, Torker® bikes and Pryme® safety gear.
Along with the growth of SBS came ownership changes. In 1988 Mike Warn and Jared Williams bought in to the company, and eventually bought out the previous partnership. They remained the private owners of SBS until 2006, when Seattle Bike Supply was purchased by The Accell Group; based out of the Netherlands. Accell Group is an international group of companies, active in design, production, marketing and sales of bicycles. With national and international brands, Accell Group occupies a strong position in the middle and higher segments of the cycling market. SBS is the 12th cycling-related company owned by Accell. In 35 plus years, SBS has grown from the backend of a wood paneled station wagon, to over 150,000 square feet of distribution space. Although the company has seen changes in market conditions and ownership, the basic premise still remains the same: providing excellent customer service, offering a large selection of items, having them in stock at all times, and maintaining highly competitive pricing |

Seattle Bike Supply (SBS) was founded in 1974 by Terry Heller. With a tight budget and a Ford station wagon, Terry started the first "wagon jobber" concept for selling bike parts around the Northwest. His idea was simple: provide extra customer service and keep very competitive prices - a quality that still stands true to SBS today. With this simple but effective concept, SBS was able to expand rapidly. In 1978, profits were used to open its first warehouse in Tukwila, Washington. After the opening of this first facility, their customer base grew and SBS expanded its buying power. This meant greater discounts for dealers and furthered our goal of maintaining competitive pricing.
